Philosophy
David Lett planted Oregon's first pinot noir in 1965; his 1975 Pinot Noir's performance in the 1979 Gault-Millau tasting established the Willamette Valley internationally. Son Jason maintains the founding philosophy: no new oak, no fining, no filtration, pinot gris and pinot meunier alongside pinot noir.
Reputation
"Papa Pinot" — Oregon wine begins here. Eyrie is the most historically significant American pinot estate outside California; the 1975 vintage changed Oregon's trajectory.
