Matt Hofmann and Emerson Lamb founded Westland in 2010 with the explicit goal of establishing American single malt whisky as a legitimate category — distinct from Scotch but equal in quality. Washington barley only from 2016; five malted barley varieties; Garry oak for the prestige Garryana expression.

America's most globally recognised single malt whisky producer; Westland catalysed the American Single Malt Whiskey category and Garryana is the most distinctively Pacific Northwest spirit made anywhere.
