Clos Triguedina Cahors AOC Malbec

Cahors AOC, France
Estate Malbec (Côt) from Clos Triguedina, one of Cahors' most historic estates farmed by the Baldès family for five generations in the Lot Valley. The Cahors style of Malbec is distinctly different from Argentine interpretations — more mineral, more austere, with the limestone-clay terroir of the causses above the Lot River imparting a dark, earthy character and firm tannin structure. Traditional Cahors winemaking — extended maceration, aging in large oak foudres — produces wine designed for long cellaring and gradual evolution.
