Cristom Marjorie Vineyard Pinot Noir Willamette Valley AVA

Willamette Valley AVA, USA
Oregon's benchmark estate Pinot Noir from the Eola-Amity Hills' volcanic Jory basalt. Indigenous yeast fermented with 30% whole-cluster inclusion; aged 12 months in French barriques (30% new). Deep transparent ruby; fresh cherry, pomegranate, dried violets, iron-mineral, and a savoury forest floor note unique to the volcanic basalt. Silky tannins with excellent structure; develops magnificently at 8–15 years.
complement
Oregon Pinot's red fruit and iron mineral depth is the definitive companion to duck; the cherry-beet reduction mirrors the wine's dominant fruit note while the beet echoes the volcanic earth.

complement
The quintessential Pacific Northwest pairing — Willamette Pinot Noir and Oregon wild salmon; the wine's freshness bridges the salmon's richness; mushroom duxelles adds umami depth that Pinot loves.

An Oregon terroir pairing — the state's famous hazelnuts echo the wine's own nutty-mineral note; aged Cheddar's crystalline sharpness is cut by Pinot's acidity; honey bridges the fruit.
