About this product
Pichler's signature Grüner Veltliner — from the steep Kellerberg slope above Dürnstein, where the granite and gneiss bedrock beneath a thin loess layer concentrates Grüner Veltliner into a wine of extraordinary mineral intensity and longevity. The Smaragd classification requires minimum 12.5% ABV and hand-harvesting at full phenolic maturity. The Kellerberg GV achieves 13.5–14% ABV in top vintages — for many decades considered 'too big' for a white wine by conventional critics, it is now recognised as one of Austria's greatest expressions of terroir. The white pepper, green herb, and mineral character of Grüner Veltliner is amplified to extraordinary concentration by the Kellerberg's steep gradient and granite-gneiss substrate.
