Hamilton Russell Vineyards Pinot Noir Walker Bay WO

Walker Bay WO, South Africa
South Africa's benchmark Pinot Noir — 40+ years of continuous refinement have produced a wine of genuine Burgundian elegance. Clay-shale soils and the cool Hemel-en-Aarde Valley produce Pinot of dark cherry, dried violet, game, and a distinctive red clay mineral character. Aged 15–18 months in French barriques (35% new). Outstanding from 5 to 15 years.
complement
The wine's red fruit and game character harmonises with duck confit's richness; the cherry reduction mirrors the wine's dominant fruit note; lentils add earthiness that Pinot loves.
