About this product
The benchmark of modern Tokaji — 6 Puttonyos (baskets of Aszú berries per barrel of base wine). Individually selected botrytised Furmint and Hárslevelű berries from Szepsy's finest vineyards, macerated 48 hours in base wine, then fermented in Gönc barrels (136-litre). Aged 3–5 years in Szepsy's cellars. Deep amber-gold; extraordinary dried apricot, saffron, orange peel, ginger, and a piercing acidity that balances 150–200 g/l residual sugar. Centuries of ageing potential.
Pairing intelligence
complement
The most celebrated sweet wine and cheese pairing in the world — Tokaji's acidity cuts through the blue cheese's fat; the dried apricot sweetness bridges the salt and pungency.

The classic Tokaji pairing — the wine's botrytis-derived apricot concentration mirrors the compote; the wine's piercing acidity cuts through the foie's fat with extraordinary elegance.

complement
Szepsy's ginger-orange botrytis complexity directly mirrors the dessert's flavour profile; the wine's acidity prevents mutual cloying while amplifying both wine and food.
