Komasa Sakurajima Imo Shochu 25°

Komasa Jokamachi's Sakurajima expression is named for the most dramatic element of Kagoshima's landscape: the Sakurajima volcano, whose periodic eruptions deposit mineral-rich ash onto the surrounding fields. The sweet potatoes used in Sakurajima shochu are grown in soil literally enriched by active volcanic activity — perhaps the most dramatic and literal terroir story in the Japanese spirits world. Single pot distillation, black koji, traditional method.
