Founded by Catalan emigrant Jean León who worked as a busboy in Los Angeles before becoming Frank Sinatra's favourite restaurateur. He brought Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay cuttings from Napa to Penedès in the 1960s — a pioneering act that shaped Catalan viticulture.
