Colomé Estate Winery Salta
Philosophy
Colomé, at 2,200–3,000m in the Calchaquí Valley, operates some of the world's highest vineyards, including the Altura Máxima at 3,111m. The Swiss Hess family have biodynamically farmed this historic estate since 2001, producing Malbec and Torrontés of extraordinary altitude-driven intensity and freshness.
Reputation
Colomé is Argentina's most altitude-extreme estate — the Altura Máxima vineyard at 3,111m produces Malbec that is uniquely aromatic, high in natural acidity, and unlike any other Malbec on earth. The estate has also established a museum dedicated to artist James Turrell.
