Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (YCFCU)

The umbrella cooperative representing 26 primary cooperatives and 43,000+ smallholder farmers in the Yirgacheffe zone. The YCFCU was established to provide market access, fair prices, and collective bargaining for Ethiopia's most celebrated coffee farmers. Holds multiple Fairtrade and organic certifications. Central to preserving the smallholder model that produces the world's best washed Ethiopian coffee.

YCFCU coffees represent the institutional backbone of Yirgacheffe's global reputation. The Kochere and Aricha washing stations produce lots that score 90+ at international cupping competitions.
