Founded 1998 by Eguren family; acquired by LVMH (Moët Hennessy) 2008. Old-vine Tinta de Toro averaging 80+ years; ungrafted on pre-phylloxera sandy soils. Three wines: Termes (entry), Numanthia (flagship), Termanthia (top cuvée). Made consultant Michel Rolland famous in Toro.
Reputation
Numanthia put Toro on the global map with Parker 97 points for Termanthia. The Numanthia bottling is the reference wine for the appellation — powerful, dense, and capable of extraordinary ageing. Essential for understanding old-vine Spanish Tempranillo.
