Family estate south of Pavia on limestone-clay soils; planted 1979 with a visionary focus on Pinot Nero as still wine rather than sparkling base. The Noir Pinot Nero is the reference wine for Oltrepò Pavese as a serious still red. Also makes Bonarda and sparkling Cruasé (Pinot Nero Rosé Metodo Classico).

Tenuta Mazzolino's Noir Pinot Nero proved that Oltrepò Pavese could produce genuinely elegant, age-worthy still Pinot Nero comparable to Burgundy Village level. A pioneer in the region's quality rediscovery and one of Italy's most underappreciated wine estates.
