Chateau Mukhrani
Philosophy
Founded in 1873 by Prince Ivane Mukhranbatoni of the Georgian royal family, Chateau Mukhrani is Georgia's oldest European-style winery and one of the country's most significant heritage wine estates. Restored by French investors in 2002, the château now combines the region's indigenous variety expertise with European-trained winemaking, producing both traditional qvevri wines and European-style bottled expressions.
Reputation
Chateau Mukhrani is the most internationally recognised name in Kartli wine — a historic estate that bridges Georgia's ancient viticultural traditions and the modern quality requirements of European export markets. Their Chinuri sparkling wine and Shavkapito red have attracted wide attention as evidence of Georgia's diversity beyond Rkatsiteli and Saperavi.
