Philosophy
Alois Kracher (continued by son Gerhard after his death in 2007) established Austria's most celebrated sweet wine portfolio from the Illmitz Seewinkel. Working with Welschriesling, Chardonnay, Traminer, and Scheurebe affected by noble rot, Kracher produces two styles: the Zwischen den Seen (between the lakes — stainless steel, pure botrytis fruit expression) and the Nouvelle Vague series (barrel-fermented and aged, adding texture and secondary complexity).
Reputation
Alois Kracher is the undisputed master of Austrian sweet wine — his Trockenbeerenauslese wines regularly receive perfect scores from critics and have established Austria alongside Germany and France as one of the world's great sweet wine nations. The Kracher name is synonymous internationally with Austrian quality ambition.
