Aalto Bodegas y Viñedos

Mariano García (former head winemaker of Vega Sicilia for 30 years) and Javier Zaccagnini founded Aalto in 1999 to produce old-vine Tinto Fino from the most prestigious Ribera del Duero terroir. The estate focuses on sites above 900m altitude where the Duero's continental climate produces Tempranillo of maximum aromatic complexity.

Aalto was founded by two of Spain's most respected wine figures — Mariano García's Vega Sicilia pedigree brought immediate credibility. The Aalto PS (selected parcels from the oldest and finest vineyards) is considered one of Ribera del Duero's finest wines, achieving scores that rival Vega Sicilia at more accessible prices.
