Jean-Marc Roulot
Philosophy
Jean-Marc Roulot inherited his father's domaine in 1989 while also pursuing an acting career; when he returned to full-time winemaking, he brought the same precision and intellectual rigour to his wines. The domaine makes the most complete range of Meursault wines available — from village-level Meursault Tessons to multiple Premier Crus — each vinified identically to reveal the terroir rather than the winemaker.
Reputation
Roulot is now considered by many critics to be the finest Meursault producer — surpassing even Lafon and Coche-Dury in precision and consistency. Wine Advocate awarded 100 points to the 2014 Meursault Perrières. Neal Martin described Roulot as 'the greatest white wine producer in the world'. Demand vastly exceeds supply.
