Gusbourne Estate
Philosophy
Gusbourne farms 170 hectares across the Appledore Estate in Kent and West Sussex on greensand and chalk soils. Founded 2004 by Andrew Weeber, the estate has become one of England's most consistently acclaimed producers. The Blanc de Blancs is considered the most elegant English sparkling wine currently produced — a genuine rival to Blanc de Blancs Champagne.
Reputation
Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs has received 95-97 points from Wine Advocate and Tim Atkin — consistently England's highest-scoring single-variety sparkling wine. The combination of Kent's chalky greensand and the estate's Chardonnay-focused viticulture produces wines of genuine mineral complexity and ageing potential.
