La Tapada (Guitián family) is one of Valdeorras's founding quality estates — producing Godello since the DO's revival in the 1980s from granite and slate parcels in the Bibei valley. The Guitián Godello sobre lías (on lees) is widely considered the most accessible and consistently high-quality Valdeorras Godello at the premium tier.

Guitián is Valdeorras's most consistent mid-range producer — the Godello sobre lías consistently receives 92-94 points and represents outstanding value in the Spanish white wine category. The estate's contribution to Valdeorras's international recognition predates Rafael Palacios's arrival.
