Dry River Wines
Philosophy
Founded by Dr Neil McCallum in 1978, Dry River pioneered fine wine production in Martinborough with meticulous low-yield viticulture and fastidious cellar practice. The estate produces extremely limited quantities of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Riesling, all of which are released only to a mailing list.
Reputation
Dry River is New Zealand's most cult winery — its tiny-production Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir have cult-classic status among collectors, and the estate's perfectionism has inspired a generation of Martinborough producers.
