Antiyal
Philosophy
Álvaro Espinoza established Antiyal in 1998 as Chile's first biodynamic winery, farming a small estate in Maipo with no irrigation, no chemical inputs and a horse-drawn plough. The estate blends Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah in a distinctly artisanal approach that contrasts with Maipo's large-estate model.
Reputation
Antiyal is Chile's most celebrated artisan biodynamic estate — Álvaro Espinoza's influence on Chilean sustainable viticulture far exceeds his tiny production, inspiring a generation of producers to reconsider conventional practices.
