Muri-Gries

The Benedictine monastery of Muri-Gries has farmed the historic Gries vineyard within Bolzano since 1845, producing Lagrein on the same gravelly soils for nearly two centuries. The monastery's Lagrein Dunkel Riserva is consistently considered the grape's finest expression — combining power, structure and the distinctive terroir of ancient Gries.

Muri-Gries is the canonical producer of Alto Adige Lagrein — the monastery's two-century stewardship of the Gries vineyard and its landmark Lagrein Riserva define the variety's finest possibilities.
