Philosophy
Schist-terraced Mencía fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, unoaked: mineral clarity married to red-fruit precision. A vivid expression of heroic viticulture on the Sil's dramatic canyon slopes.
Reputation
In 1980, Fernando González Riveiro reclaimed abandoned terraced vineyards in the Sil River canyon of Ribeira Sacra—a region first planted by medieval monks in the 12th century, then devastated by phylloxera and civil war. His winery, built in 1996 within the appellation's inaugural year, now stands as a beacon of regional resurrection, stewarding 130 small parcels across 30 hectares on slopes reaching 85 degrees.
