Amity Vineyards

Willamette Valley, United States
Minimal intervention Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc from dry-farmed, own-rooted vines on volcanic soil. Estate wines bear the hand of cool-climate Oregon—bright acidity, fresh fruit, the transparent expression of place rather than extraction or oak.
Amity Vineyards was established in 1974 by winemaker Myron Redford, who planted the first vines in 1971 on a south-facing slope in Oregon's Eola-Amity Hills. Redford was a pioneer of organic sulfite-free winemaking and among the first to recognize the Willamette Valley's potential for world-class Pinot Noir when few others believed in the region.
AllocationOwnership transition confirmed: Myron Redford (founder, 1974) sold to Ryan Harms and Eric Harms (Union Wine Company) in 2014. Current proprietor field reflects post-2014 ownership. Vineyard holdings converted from 15 acres stated in 1971 planting; 13.5 acres confirmed in 2014 purchase announcement (6.1 hectares). Production stated as 34,000 gallons annually (per Yelp/Oregon Wine Reserve); converted to approximate bottles. LIVE certification awarded in 2015 per Union Wine Company timeline. Farming practices described as organic and biodynamic-approaching in multiple sources but no current Demeter certification found; classified as organic_practicing. Minor discrepancy in some sources state 1972 as planted year vs. 1971 in official narrative. Redford called first U.S. producer of true Gamay Noir (1988) and sulfite-free organic wine (1990 per some sources, 1991 per others). Website primarily in English; no international language support detected.
