Azienda Agricola Inama

Veneto, Italy
Minimal intervention philosophy with temperature-controlled fermentation, spontaneous malolactic fermentation, and bottling with minimal fining and filtration. White grapes harvested fully ripe undergo short maceration and gentle pressing; must settles naturally before fermentation. Hand-picked fruit, minimal intervention in cellar.
In the 1960s, Giuseppe Inama perceived the unrealized potential of Monte Foscarino's basaltic volcanic slopes in the heart of Soave Classico, acquiring small parcels of old-vine Garganega to restore dignity to a region then synonymous with ordinary wine. His son Stefano assumed stewardship in 1992 and expanded into the mineral-rich Colli Berici, now tending two territories—one volcanic and saline, one limestone and perfumed—with unyielding commitment to terroir expression and minimalist craft.
AllocationFounded year confirmed as 1960 from multiple retail sources (Nationwide Liquor, Pasanella & Son shows 1948—likely refers to Giuseppe's 1950s vineyard acquisitions; 1960 is estate foundation date). Stefano took control in 1992 (confirmed across sources). Matteo (Stefano's son) entered company in 2010 (4th generation now operating). Organic farming is deliberate practice without certification per source 31-10 and 48-9 ('don't declare it'). Hectares: sources cite both 30 hectares total and 74 acres (~30ha) consistently. Production: Vin Soave represents 'about half of overall production' (source 50-7), with Vigneti di Foscarino single-vineyard showing ~26,000 bottles capacity (source 41-2). Estimate ~50,000 bottles annual based on 30ha holdings. UK importer confirmed as Winetraders (source 45-1). US importer Dalla Terra confirmed (source 2-1, 21-12). Japan importer not found in search results. Region: producer operates across Soave Classico and Colli Berici (two distinct terroirs). Appellation primary is Soave Classico DOC for whites; reds fall under Colli Berici DOC and IGT. Winemaking signature emphasizes minimalism, no industrial practices. No biodynamic or certified-organic labels found despite organic viticulture. Three generations currently operating: Stefano (3rd gen) with sons Matteo and others (4th gen references in 2010 and recent content).
