Beaux Frères Vineyard & Winery
Willamette Valley, United States
Philosophy
Minimal intervention fermentation with wild indigenous yeast, spontaneous secondary fermentation in cool barrel cellar, reductive winemaking style protecting aromatics through minimal racking. Native yeasts, hand-sorted fruit, unfined and unfiltered—vinification that honors terroir over technique.
Reputation
In 1986, Colorado wine salesman Michael G. Etzel discovered an 88-acre foreclosed pig farm atop Ribbon Ridge near Newberg and, with investment from his brother-in-law Robert Parker Jr., began transforming it into one of Oregon's benchmark Pinot Noir estates. Planting commenced in 1988; the first commercial vintage emerged in 1991 from a converted barn, immediately capturing international attention for its elegant power.
