Cantine Elvio Tintero
Piedmont, Italy
Philosophy
Frizzante innovator since the 1980s; Marco champions accessibly fresh, unfiltered wines bottled on demand—stainless-steel fermentation for whites and Moscato, allowing maximum aromatic vibrancy and preservation of natural sweetness. The flagship Sorì Gramella rests as limestone amphitheater expression: low temperature conditioning until order-receipt triggers fermentation, ensuring vivacity uncompromised by age or transport.
Reputation
In 1900, a Frenchman named Pierre Tintero arrived in Mango seeking work and discovered both the Piedmontese terroir and widow Rosina Cortese, whom he married. Their descendants expanded methodically through purchased parcels, and in the 1980s, Elvio recognized Moscato's transcendent potential in the south-facing slopes of Gramella, pioneering the frizzante style that would define modern Moscato d'Asti—a bequest to the region that persists in Marco's fastidious stewardship today.
