Château Bélair-Monange
Bordeaux, France
Philosophy
Meticulous hand-harvest into stainless steel vats via optical sorting; aged 50–60% new French oak for 16–18 months. The marriage of limestone plateau minerality with clay-slope intensity yields wines of uncommon elegance and linearity, their terroir expressed with crystalline precision.
Reputation
Situated upon the highest limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, Château Bélair-Monange traces its lineage to the fourteenth century, when Robert de Knollys, an English governor, established the vineyard. Originally known as Château Bélair, the property was renamed in 2008 by Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix in memory of Anne-Adèle Monange, the family's matriarch and first woman to settle in the village.
