Château Laribotte
Bordeaux, France
Philosophy
Hand-harvested grapes in successive selections, concentrating botrytis-affected fruit; fermentation in cement tanks followed by oak barrel aging. The house pursues botrytis expression through the Garonne's morning mists, yielding wines of refined complexity and balanced acidity.
Reputation
Château Laribotte dates to 1855 and the conclusion of the French Revolution, established by the Lahiteau family on the left bank of the Garonne in Preignac, where autumn mists concentrate noble rot on Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle. Now in its seventh generation, the estate has maintained its commitment to selective harvesting and the terroir's clay, chalk, and gravel soils.
