Château Redortier

Rhône Valley, France
Fruit destemmed, native yeast fermentation in cement vats and neutral foudres, extended aging in concrete vats and old wood. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. The altitude—between 350 and 550 metres—governs acidity and precision; winemaking honours terroir without intervention.
Château Redortier occupies the site of an eighteenth-century fortified stronghold between Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail in Suzette, Vaucluse. Etienne de Menthon, an agricultural engineer, planted its first vines in 1956 after the great frost; his twin daughters Isabelle and Sabine have stewarded the estate since 1981.
AllocationOrganic farming documented by APS Wine and regional sources but no formal certification body (e.g. ECOCERT, Bioagricert) explicitly named in web results. Producer practises organically but certification status unconfirmed—flagged for Garth review. UK and Japan importers not identified. Etienne de Menthon died 2017; succession to daughters documented by multiple sources. Founded 1956 as wine estate (own cellar/first vintage 1981). D.B. Wine Selection and APS Wine & Spirits confirmed as importers; no other markets located. Website uses CanalblogBlog platform (chateauredortier.canalblog.com) and official .org domain (chateauredortier.org) both cited. Regional regulatory bodies (AOC Beaumes de Venise, AOC Ventoux, AOC Gigondas, AOC Côtes du Rhône) list producer directly. Sparse certification documentation; recommend direct contact for organic certification details.
