Château Saint-André Corbin
Bordeaux, France
Philosophy
Traditional cement-vat fermentation with extended maceration. Unfiltered, unfined expression. Twelve months in French oak from five coopers, one-third renewed annually. The house preserves old Bordeaux clones of Cabernet Franc—seventy vintages on the vine—which anchor the wine's mineral precision and age-worthiness.
Reputation
Built atop a Gallo-Roman estate once belonging to the fourth-century poet and Roman consul Ausonius, Château Saint-André Corbin claims lineage to antiquity. The Saby family acquired the property in 2003, bringing nine generations of Right Bank winemaking expertise to restore and elevate this satellite appellation jewel.
