Domaine de Triennes
Provence, France
Philosophy
Cool-night terroir shaped into wines of uncommon freshness and mineral purity. Rosé crafted by night harvest and direct pressing; whites pursue aromatic finesse without oak; reds marry elegance with structure, never excess. Winemaking unfolds without cosmetic intervention.
Reputation
On the hillsides of the Var, thirty kilometres from the Mediterranean, Domaine de Triennes was discovered at the end of 1989 and renamed in honour of the Triennia—Roman bacchanalias held every three years in honour of Bacchus. Two legendary Burgundian winemakers, Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac and Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, along with Parisian friend Michel Macaux, purchased the property and began an ambitious program of terroir-driven transformation.
