Domaine la Roubine

Southern Rhône, France
Spontaneous fermentation in neutral vessels—concrete tanks, old oak barrels, fiberglass—with 100% stem inclusion on reds. No fining, no filtration. Extended aging reveals concentration without sacrifice of the bright, mineral character demanded by the Dentelles terroir.
In 1990, Eric Ughetto took over family vineyards in Gigondas; joined by Sophie in the late 1990s, they created Domaine la Roubine in 2000 with their first vintage. The vineyard sits at the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail at 300 metres elevation on limestone-clay terraces along the left bank of the Ouvèze, where greater rigour and attention yield wines of finesse and concentration.
AllocationDomaine la Roubine (Gigondas, Eric & Sophie Ughetto) is distinct from Château Roubine (Lorgues, Valérie Rousselle). Searches returned significant Château Roubine data; all entries above refer to Domaine la Roubine only. Organic certification year not specified in sources but confirmed certified by 2000 (domaine birth year). Hectare holdings vary slightly across sources (15.5, 15, 23 hectares reported); 23 hectares cited on official producer site and Elite Wines suggests broadest count including rentals. Production ~15,000 bottles/year per wine-and-bee.com. Son Simon joined July 2023 per French producer site. Winemaker attribution shows Olivier Nasles on Vivino but Eric Ughetto confirmed as cellar lead on multiple official sources. No UK or Japan importer identified. US importer The Source Imports confirmed. | Importer overflow captured (importer_other): 'Sommelier Selection Inc. (Philippines)'
