Philosophy
Small-batch, site-specific Pinot Noir achieved through counterintuitive blending practice—reserving the finest vineyard blocks for the flagship Les Pommiers rather than bottling them separately. Restrained handling, minimal oak influence, and pursuit of delicate equilibrium between ripeness and acidity define the house philosophy.
Reputation
EnRoute emerged in 2007 from the shared Burgundian vision of Far Niente's partners, who sought a western outlet for their decades-long pursuit of Pinot Noir perfection. The Russian River Valley's Green Valley and Middle Reach appellations, where abandoned apple orchards once flourished on Goldridge soils, provided the terroir foundation for a house devoted entirely to expressing the region's subtle gradations of place.
