Giovanni Almondo
Piedmont, Italy
Philosophy
The estate performs stainless-steel fermentation in small batches, aging wines on lees for maximal phenolic development. Multiple bottlings per vintage ensure each release embodies perfect ripeness. Nebbiolo production harnesses extended maceration and large-barrel aging to achieve elegance with structure.
Reputation
The Almondo family has dwelt in Montà since the 1300s, their civic registry anchored in this northern Roero terroir where Arneis vines grow upon sandy, mineral-rich soils. In 1980, Domenico Almondo transformed his family's mixed agricultural holding—until then devoted to bulk-wine sales and fruit cultivation—into a single-minded pursuit of quality white and red winemaking.
