Grasso Fratelli
Piedmont, Italy
Philosophy
The brothers employ extended barrel aging—a minimum of 30 months up to 48 months—in large Slavonian oak casks averaging 45 years old. Their approach, unchanged in half a century, prioritizes wine readiness over commercial urgency, releasing only when each vintage has achieved full maturity. A philosophy of conservation and patience defines their craft.
Reputation
Founded in 1970 by brothers Luigi and Alfredo Grasso atop the terraced vineyards of Treiso, the estate inherited family land in the heart of the Langhe, the historical heartland of Nebbiolo. Positioned at the highest elevations of the Barbaresco zone, the 14-hectare vineyard commands the respect of a place where elegance and mineral distinction emerge naturally from altitude and schist.
