Practice
The most complex and age-worthy Châteauneuf-du-Pape from a classically structured estate. The Perrin family (fifth generation) grows all 13 permitted varieties — the most traditional approach in the appellation. Mourvèdre is the backbone variety (30% — extraordinary for the southern Rhône, where Grenache usually dominates). The result is Châteauneuf of exceptional longevity: 20–40 years. The Hommage à Jacques Perrin (a super-concentrated, Mourvèdre-dominant cuvée) is produced in exceptional years. Also produces excellent whites (Roussanne old vines) and the value Côtes du Rhône (Coudoulet de Beaucastel).
