Minimal intervention fermentation with native yeasts and bacteria, natural sulfiting under 35 ppm. Fruit-forward Mediterranean varietals—Nero d'Avola, Carignan, Negroamaro—vinified whole-cluster for brightness and structure, aged on lees without commercial additives, reflecting terroir without obscuration.

Reputation

Founded in 2014 by Martha Stoumen after eight years of international apprenticeship, Martha Stoumen Wines emerged from a desire to recapture a winemaking culture of patience. Based in Sonoma County's Sebastopol, Stoumen sources Mediterranean varietals from the warm, dry regions of Mendocino County, Contra Costa County, and Suisun Valley—terroirs where organic farming yields naturally balanced wines.

AllocationProducer is practicing organic (not certified as of 2018 article). Per producer website FAQ: 98% of vineyards are certified organic or practicing organic/biodynamic; 70%+ dry-farmed. Skurnik became exclusive distributor as of August 2024 in nine US states. Production approximately 8,000 cases annually (96,000 bottles).
