Philosophy
Mediterranean white wines from Italian varieties grown in California. Hand-harvested at daybreak, whole-cluster pressed, settled overnight, fermented separately by vineyard in neutral oak and stainless steel with native yeasts. Minimal intervention: no fining agents, no cold stabilization, sterile-filtered. Bottled in lightweight recycled glass.
Reputation
Founded in 2009 by winemaker Dan Petroski, Massican takes its name from Monte Massico, the Massican hills near Naples where Petroski's Italian-American family originates. The house emerged as Napa Valley's first and only exclusively white-wine producer, a deliberate pivot from the region's Cabernet-dominant tradition—Petroski's answer to California's Mediterranean climate and his own cellar palate.
