Oxer Wines

Spain
Old vines, picked early to preserve acidity, minimal extraction, spontaneous fermentation in mixed vessels—stainless steel, concrete eggs, amphorae, Austrian foudres, and bespoke French oak barrels. Each wine receives tailor-made cooperage selected with meticulous attention to terroir expression.
Oxer Bastegieta discovered Rioja Alavesa in 2009 whilst pursuing a master's degree in Wine Growing and Oenology, entranced by the landscape beneath Sierra Cantabria. Having begun his wine career in 1999 in his family's Basque txakoli operation, he brought unconventional ambition to a new terrain: purchasing century-old vineyard parcels and coaxing from them wines of singular freshness and mineral purity. His project invests each cent earned back into old vines.

Antalva Imports confirmed as US importer; ranked #2 Spanish wine importer USA 2024. Succession status: sole proprietor, family operation (divides time between family txakoli business and personal Rioja project).
