Salem Wine Company

Willamette Valley, United States
Estate-grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay fermented with native yeasts and minimal intervention. Slow fermentation in neutral oak and stainless steel, bottled unfined, unfiltered, with minimal sulfites. The wine honors the iron-rich volcanic terroir and eastern exposure of the Eola-Amity Hills.
Salem Wine Company represents the accessible expression of Seven Springs Estate, a historic vineyard planted in 1984 by Oregon pioneer Al MacDonald on the iron-rich volcanic soils of the Eola-Amity Hills. Since 2014, the property has been farmed biodynamically under the stewardship of Rajat Parr and Sashi Moorman, masters of restrained winemaking devoted to mineral expression and place.
AllocationSalem Wine Company is a secondary label (cuvée label) of Evening Land Vineyards, not an independent producer. Founded year for the label itself is not confirmed in sources; label appears to have emerged circa 2014+ in conjunction with the Parr-Moorman takeover. Seven Springs vineyard planted 1984 by Al MacDonald; converted to biodynamic in 2007 per multiple sources (one source says 2008—minor discrepancy). Steven Webster is majority owner of Evening Land Vineyards corporate entity as of October 2025; Parr no longer owns equity. Production figure (2,950 cases) sourced from one recent vintage listing. Winemaker is John Faulkner per current website. Limited direct importation data; Indigo Wine confirmed as at least one distributor. Website is live and informative. No specific UK/Japan importers identified. Recommend verifying current distributor network and label launch date with parent company directly.
