Weingut Markus Molitor
Mosel, Germany
Philosophy
Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in large wooden Fuder barrels; extended maturation on the lees in a slate-carved cellar beneath Wehlener Klosterberg. No chaptalization, no artificial acid adjustment—wines express terroir through mineral precision and aging power.
Reputation
The Molitor family has cultivated wine for eight generations along the Mosel's vertiginous slate slopes. Markus Molitor assumed stewardship in 1984 at twenty, resolving to restore the region's faded eminence through terroir-driven Riesling of uncompromising purity and structure.
