Master of Wine Larry Stone and Dominique Lafon of Domaine des Comtes Lafon (Burgundy) founded Lingua Franca in 2012 to make pinot noir and chardonnay in the Eola-Amity Hills that engages with Burgundy on equal terms. Winemaker Thomas Savre applies Old World discipline to Oregon material.

The Lafon connection gives Lingua Franca international credibility beyond its young age; the wines demonstrate Eola-Amity's Van Duzer wind character most articulately.
