Philosophy
Paris Sigalas is widely credited with establishing Santorini's international reputation for serious wine. His estate in Oia focuses on the indigenous Assyrtiko grape from the island's ancient basket-trained (kouloura) vines — some 70-200+ years old. Sigalas produces wines across the Assyrtiko spectrum: Santorini (unoaked), Barrel Assyrtiko (oaked), and Nykteri (the island's traditional late-harvest style). His approach: respect for terroir, minimal intervention, no irrigation.
Reputation
Sigalas is the reference for Santorini and for serious Greek white wine globally. His wines have brought international attention to Assyrtiko as a great variety. Good BC distribution through specialty retailers.
