Stephen McCarthy founded Clear Creek in Portland in 1985 — one of America's first craft distilleries. Inspired by Alsatian and Swiss fruit spirit traditions; McCarthy's Oregon Single Malt was the first peated American single malt. Sold to Hood River Distillers in 2014.

America's craft distilling pioneer; McCarthy's Pear Brandy is one of the finest fruit spirits made in the US and the Oregon Single Malt preceded the American craft whisky movement by 15 years.
