Pheasant's Tears

Georgia Wine Regions, Georgia
John Wurdeman (American painter) and Gela Patalishvili founded Pheasant's Tears in Signagi, Kakheti in 2007 — now the most internationally recognised Georgia wine producer and the primary ambassador for qvevri wine culture globally. The project revived nearly extinct indigenous varieties (Kisi, Chinuri, Krakhuna, Rkatsiteli) and demonstrated that traditional qvevri fermentation could produce wines of world-class quality. Their wines appear on Noma, Mugaritz, and leading natural wine restaurant lists worldwide.
Pheasant's Tears is the most internationally recognised Georgian wine producer and the primary catalyst for the global amber wine movement. Featured on the world's most forward-thinking restaurant wine lists from Copenhagen to Tokyo.
