Philosophy
Château Montrose is Saint-Estèphe's most powerful wine — a Second Growth of extraordinary concentration and aging potential. The estate's unique position directly on the Gironde estuary, with deep gravel soils over clay, produces Cabernet Sauvignon of maximum concentration: blackcurrant, iron, graphite, dark chocolate, and massive tannic structure that demands 15-25 years. Montrose 1989 and 1990 are among the greatest Bordeaux wines of the 20th century. The 2009 and 2010 vintages are benchmarks for the appellation's classical power style.
