Domaine Bernard Baudry is Chinon's most celebrated estate — now run by Matthieu Baudry with the same biodynamic commitment and terroir focus established by his father Bernard. The domaine holds 40 hectares across Chinon's full geological spectrum: sandy-gravel Les Granges, clay-limestone Grezeaux, and pure limestone Croix Boissée. Their Le Clos Guillot is a 0.7-hectare monopole on sandy soil — producing Chinon of extraordinary aromatic intensity and classic Cabernet Franc freshness, emphasising elegance over power.

Domaine Bernard Baudry is considered by Jancis Robinson, Wine Advocate (Neal Martin), and the French press to be Chinon's essential reference producer. Their wines demonstrate the full range of Chinon's terroir potential — from fresh, fragrant sandy-soil Clos Guillot to the profound, age-worthy Croix Boissée limestone cuvée.
