The Vatan family's tuffeau-carved Saumur-Champigny estate — producing wines from parcels some of the appellation's oldest Cabernet Franc vines on pure tuffeau limestone. The Château du Hureau Saumur-Champigny and the single-vineyard Lisagathe and Fours à Chaux cuvées are considered among the appellation's finest expressions of the tuffeau limestone terroir.
