The Dal Cero family's Lugana estate — the most internationally recognized and critically acclaimed producer in the DOC. Ca' dei Frati's I Frati (the benchmark entry Lugana), Brolettino (old-vine single-vineyard), and Cru San Giovanni (the estate's finest Turbiana from pre-phylloxera vines) have established Lugana as one of Italy's most exciting white wine stories. The Brolettino in particular — aged in oak with extended lees contact — demonstrates that Turbiana can develop Chardonnay-like complexity over 10+ years.
